{Thailand} Abundant Life Home
For the next 2 weeks I'll be residing in Chunburi, working and serving along side Ricky and Karen Sanchez at the Abundant Life Home. This home is such a joy already and it's been so beautiful to see the work God has been doing in and through them living here in Thailand. If you're interested in hearing more about ALH, here's a video ~ https://vimeo.com/140848436
Yesterday I spent the day with a lovely family who are also visiting ALH from America. When we headed back to ALH in the afternoon we had a few boys run up to us (they knew the Simpson family from the day before). Their smiles and genuine joy to see us was so neat. One of them came right up to me and asked “What is your name??”
We visited also Monkey Mountain. They estimate that there are over 1000 monkeys on this mountain, and they roam everywhere. They’ll climb on your car and even try and take things from you. The people go and feed them as they believe in merits. They think that you die and are reincarnated as something else. So they believe that the monkey you are feeding could be your grandma or uncle or someone who has passed away.
We visited an outreach center where there was a kids VBS happening. We sang a song and they sang along with the actions. I’m realizing that the heat no longer affects me as much, I think I’m embracing it more. Being with the kids today brought me such joy. There’s just this sense in my heart that says “Ya, this ministry… this is where I’m supposed to be”
This song has been one that the Lord's been continually placing on my heart. It's such a testament to how we're lovingly called to live in our father's embrace.
